Vizag has been declared as third cleanest city in India. Vishakhapatnam aka Vizag in Andhra Pradesh stood third while Indore and Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh stood first and second.
The Cleanest city survey is conducted by government as a part of Clean India Mission. Survey is conducted in 434 cities in India and total of 37 lakh voters participated in the survey. Urban Development Minister, Venkaiah Naidu announced the list of 25 cleanest cities in India. Gujarat has maximum of 12 cities among the top 50 clean cities, followed by Madhya Pradesh with 11 and Andhra Pradesh with eight. Tirupati and Vijayawada stood 9th and 19th in the rankings.
Coming to Dirtiest cities, Gonda in Uttar Pradesh and Bhusawal in Maharastra stand first and second. Uttar Pradesh accounted for half of the bottom 50 cities in the cleanliness ranking. BJP came to Power in Uttar Pradesh and said to be concerned over the situation in the state. Venkaiah Naidu too said that they will be discussing regarding the cleanliness situation in the state in cabinet meeting.
