Ravi Shastri is the new Chief Coach of Cricket team

Ravi Shastri is the new chief coach of the Indian cricket team. BCCI named Ravi Shastri as the coach and former fast bowling cricketer, Zaheer Khan as the new bowling coach for a period of two years. The responsibility of selecting coach for the Indian team falls on the Cricket Advisory Committee which comprises of Sourav Ganguly, Sachin Tendulkar and VVS Laxman. On Monday, the panel interviewed five applicants — Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Richard Pybus and Lalchand Rajput
 
Ravi Shastri earlier worked as cricket manager during 2007 tour of Bangladesh and then Team Director from August 2014 to June 2016. India reached semi-finals of 2015 world cup and world t20 semi-finals with Ravi Shastri as Team Director. It is being said that Virender Sehwag was also short-listed but after consulting Caption Virat Kohli, BCCI said to be made the decision in favour of Ravi Shastri.
